A Sudanese court has sentenced a woman to d3ath by hanging for apostasy after she left Islam and married a Christian man.


“We gave you three days to recant but you insist on not returning to Islam. I sentence you to be hanged to death,”

the judge told the woman, AFP reports.Western embassies and rights groups had urged Sudan to respect the right of the pr3gnant woman to choose her religion.

Local media report the sentence would not be carried out for two years after she has given birth.

The BBC reports that Sudan has a majority Muslim population, which is governed by Islamic law. It rules that apostasy – the abandonment of one’s religious faith – is a crime.

The judge also sentenced the woman to 100 lashes after convicting her of adult3ry – because her marriage to a Christian man was not valid under Islamic law.

Earlier in the hearing, an Islamic cleric spoke with her in a caged dock for about 30 minutes, AFP reports.


Then she calmly told the judge: “I am a Christian and I never committed apostasy.”

Amnesty International said the woman, Meriam Yehya Ibrahim Ishag, was raised as an Orthodox Christian, her mother’s religion, because her father, a Muslim, was reportedly absent during her childhood.

In court, the judge addressed her by her Muslim name, Adraf Al-Hadi Mohammed Abdullah.

She was convicted of adult3ry on the grounds that her marriage to a Christian man from South Sudan was void under Sudan’s version of Islamic law, which says Muslim women cannot marry non-Muslims.

From the now famous video, Beyonce didn't appear to be a target in Solange’s attack on her husband, Jay Z but the social media cleanse makes it seem like Solange may have an issue with the couple altogether, rather than just Jay. But whatever she’s upset about, it’s clearly a point of passion, because no one goes through their Twitter and Instagram to delete every picture of something unless they want to send a message.

A disabled bishop has reported to police claims that he was forced to crawl from the plane of a local airline.

Bishop Jackson Kosgei of Worldwide Gospel Church of Kenya has said he had to crawl from the plane at JKIA after staff said they could not help him get down.

After a 40-minute standoff, Bishop Kosgei says he was ordered to alight on his own by Fly540 attendants when it landed at JKIA from Eldoret in spite of his disability.

He complained about his treatment to JKIA police and OB No 18/11/5/2014 states that the airline staff refused to allow anybody to support him as he disembarked.

Mother Identifies Her Daughter in new Boko Haram Video



A screen capture taken from the latest Boko Haram video shows the alleged kidnapped girls dressed in hijabs and praying in an undisclosed rural location.
The mother watched the video on television on Monday evening and saw her daughter among some 130 kidnapped girls wearing hijabs and reciting parts of the Qur’an in an unknown rural location.

“The video got parents apprehensive again after watching it but the various steps taken by the governments and the coming of the foreign troops is boosting our spirit, even though I have not seen the any one soldier in Chibok yet,” Mpur told Reuters by telephone on Tuesday.

Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima ordered on May 12 for mass production of the video to enable parents identify their children.

According to previous reports, some of the parents could not identify their daughters in the video.

Boko Haram issued the video on Monday. The rebels’ leader Abubakar Shekau said in the video that majority of the girls have converted to Islam and those who did not could be exchanged for the insurgents held in various prisons across Nigeria.

More than 200 school have been abducted by Boko Haram on April 14. Some managed to escape while other are still missing.

Meanwhile, the United States with Nigeria’s government’s permission has deployed manned surveillance aircraft over Nigeria to find the girls

THAILAND— A Congolese man stabbed his compatriot girlfriend to death in a fit of jealous rage after a heated argument over repeated text messages from her ex-boyfriend on the Line chat application.... (similar to whats app)



Patchley Madilu Nsisi, 34, turned up at Pratunum Chulalonkorn police station in pathum Thani' district in the early hours of Sunday morning and told the officers that he had killed his girlfriend, Jenny Monga llunga Ngoie 26 at Chaps Elysee condominium in pak Kret District of Nothanburi.

Police accompanied him to his condo room, and found the naked body of Llunga Ngoie in the bathtub with 15 stab wounds. The knife used to stab her was found hidden in a garbage bag covered with clothes.

When someone inqured about what had gone on  between the two of them, it was said that Nsisi had had an argument with his girlfriend at about 3pm on sartuday over her ex-boyfriend repeteadly messaging her on the Line chat app on her smart phone. He lost his temper during the argument and stabbed her several times. He then went to the drug store and bought medicine with an intention of commiting suicide and checked in at a hotel in Pathum Thani. It was not clear what kind of drug he bought.

After taking the medicine, he fell asleep for several hours but the medicine did not kill him as he had hoped. He woke up at about 11.30 pm and decided to go to the police and confess his crime.

When asked of what he did in thailand for a living, the suspect said that he bough shoes and flip-flops  in Thailand and sold them in congo for a profit.
Police later took him to hospital for a medical checkup because he was suffering side effects from the medicine he had taken.

My mom only had one eye. I hated her… She was such an embarrassment. She cooked for students and teachers to support the family.
There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me. I was so embarrassed.

How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school one of my classmates said, ‘EEEE, your mom only has one eye!’
I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear. I confronted her that day and said, ‘ If you’re only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don’t you just die?’

My mom did not respond… I didn’t even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger. I was oblivious to her feelings.
I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her. So I studied real hard, got a chance to go abroad to study.

Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own. I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts. Then one day, my Mother came to visit me. She hadn’t seen me in years and she didn’t even meet her grandchildren.
When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited. I screamed at her, ‘How dare you come to my house and scare my children!’ GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!’

And to this, my mother quietly answered, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,’ and she disappeared out of sight.
One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.
My neighbors said that she died. I did not shed a single tear. They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

‘My dearest son,
I think of you all the time. I’m sorry that I came to your house and scared your children.
I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion. But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you. I’m sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up.

You see……..when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you having to grow up with one eye. So I gave you mine.
I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye.

Your mother.’

Kaleb and Kordale are an interesting site to see; two handsome Black men resembling male models and toting three cute little children. Their Instagram page is flooded with photos of them raising their kids; helping with homework, combing their hair, and reading bedtime stories. It is the kind of family that some Americans claim they are ready to see, yet the parents have received quite a bit of negativity in response to their lifestyle.

Last week The Huffington Post highlighted the photo that had gone viral. In it Kaleb and Kordale are getting their daughters ready for school, the caption read:




Being fathers is getting our daughters up at 5:30 am making breakfast getting them dressed for school and putting them on the us by 6:30 .This is a typical day in our household. It’s not easy but we enjoy every moment and every minute of #fatherhood. #proudfathers #blackfathers #prouddads #gaydads


Many of the tweets and comments were positive, but some twitter users on “Black Twitter” (the realm of twitter where users, issues, hashtags, and topics are predominately Black) had mixed feelings about the issue. Comments like “Finally a black gay couple” expressed the notion that it is fine time for the visibility of African-American gay couples and the end of the “down low” mentality.
The couple expressed their feelings when The Huffington Post reached out to them. They stated that they “do what is necessary for [their children] to succeed in this ever-changing world” and that although they are discriminated against because of what they do “behind closed doors”, it is still no one’s business.

The issue raises many questions about the invisibility and/or visibility of Black gay men, especially those raising children. Which is more taboo about Kaleb and Kordale, their homos3xuality, their skin color, or their family?

Social media, especially Twitter and Instagram, has become a space for open expression whether political, s3xual, cultural or gender-based. People like Kaleb and Kordale are no different from any other Instagram users; their goal, like yours, is to show friends and family the joyful and interesting moments that take place in their lives—and occasionally post a flattering selfie or two.
