#‎BabyOsinya‬ has been operated on successfully, the bullet has been removed-YOUR PRAYER WORKS..YOUR AMEN WORKED!-Thank you

Doctors have successfully removed the bullet lodged in baby Satrin Osinya's skull.

The infant who was injured in a gun attack on a Likoni church is recovering from the surgery which was performed Tuesday morning. Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) Public Relations Officer Simon Ithae confirmed the good news to The Standard this afternoon. Details on the boy's condition are still scanty. Doctors believe the bullet that was removed from Baby Osinya’s head also killed his mother when she was shot in the attack on Joy Repentance and Holiness Church in Likoni, Mombasa County on Sunday, March 23. After the attack, Baby Osinya was taken to the Coast Provincial General Hospital by his 13-year-old brother Moses Gift. At the hospital, an x-ray showed that the bullet was embedded in the infant’s head. The next evening, Baby Osinya was transferred to Mombasa Hospital as doctors deliberated on the next course of action.

That Tuesday, he was flown to Nairobi for specialist treatment at the KNH, with both the national and Mombasa county governments taking care of costs. He was in the company of his father Benson Osinya.

Meanwhile, following a story by The Standard about the boy’s rescue from the church by his brother, there was an outpouring of sympathy from Kenyans who have been following his progress. News of the infant’s successful surgery first broke on social media on Tuesday and was received with mixed reactions for a few hours as many perceived it to be a sick April Fools’ Day prank. Before the briefing by KNH officials, efforts by the Standard Digital team to confirm the news from the boy’s father were not fruitful as Mr Osinya would only confirm that he was with the boy and that he was well.

The Real Cause Of Paul Walker’s Death

Paul Walker died as a result of speeding and not mechanical problems.

A source connected with the CHP — which did the speed analysis — tells TMZ … Roger Rodas, the driver, was going between 80 and 93 MPH when he lost control going around a curve and crashed.

The Associated Press quotes a source from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. — the agency that conducted the mechanics analysis who says the crash was NOT the result of mechanical failure. Speed was the trigger for the fatal accident.

Investigators also noted the tires were 9 years old. Shortly after Paul died … law enforcement sources told us they were the original tires on the car and they had hardened which means it lost traction on the road.

Dubai to keep rents in check

Department of Finance report shows which sectors emirate will focus on.

The Government of Dubai will focus on advanced industrial sectors and commercial real estate, while working to keep the rental market within permissible limits, according to a Department of Finance (DoF) report.

Titled 'The Global Financial Crisis – Lessons Learned', the report offers a peek into what the government’s strategy will be in the post-crisis era.

The government will focus on commercial real estate such as hotels, malls and offices in the property market and also work to regulate the rental market to keep it within permissible limits.

Jones Lang LaSalle said in its Q4 2013 report that Dubai's residential, retail, hotel and industrial sectors witnessed strong and relatively broadbased growth.

The property consultancy major said Dubai office stocks will increase from 7.3 million square metre to 8.6 million square metre in 2016 with Business Bay witnessing the most supply. With regard to office rentals, JLL said there was no major change in office rents recorded in the last quarter of 2013. Rents increase marginally in some prime buildings.

Among lessons it learned, the DoF report revealed that in order to boost confidence in the property sector, speculation will be prevented.

JLL said the rapid price growth, return of speculation and the dominance of cash buyers in residential property market could translate into excessive price growth or over development that, if not managed carefully, could result in a bubble.

With regard to keeping rentals in check, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a decree in December 2013 concerning the percentages of maximum property rent increase that are allowed upon the renewal of tenancy contracts.

Other steps DoF announced include developing fiscal discipline on lending operations, attention to public sector organisation structure and maintaining its size within acceptable boundaries, increasing government revenues, improving operational efficiency of government spending and a review of the development plan and monitoring the economy.

It said the emirate should be prepared for any crisis, particularly when the economy is passing through prolonged periods of prosperity and growth as mistakes are overlooked, accumulated and lead to a crisis. Therefore, caution should be taken and periodic reviews of monetary and fiscal policies should be done.

The Department of Finance also sees further need for higher operational efficiency and focus on investment spending as the emirate benefited from them and expedited UAE’s economic recovery.

Ten Guidelines for Effective Prayer-MUST READ

Guideline 1. Effective prayer is based on the revealed word of God.

Because all the scriptures are fulfilled in Christ and help to form our lives in Christlikeness, praying appropriately chosen words of scripture is one effective way to pray. But whether we use the Bible's words or our own words, our prayers should be consistent with the purposes and promises of God as they are revealed in the Bible. Luke 24:44-49; 2 Corinthians 1:18-22; Ephesians 6:17-18; 2 Timothy 3:14-17.

Guideline 2. Effective prayer is grounded in our faith in the reign of God.

Jesus’ basic gospel was that the reign of God is at hand (available to us) if we will repent and believe the good news. Jesus’ miracles revealed the kingdom’s presence. Answers to our prayers also demonstrate the kingdom’s presence. We are to pray with confidence that God is in charge and is prepared to answer faithful prayers. Mark 1:14-15; Matthew 12:28; Luke 7:20-23.

Guideline 3. Effective prayer is directed toward making the reign of God visible.

Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come; your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” He taught us to, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,” trusting that all our needs would be fulfilled as the kingdom takes first place in our lives. We are commanded to make the kingdom visible in our ministries, and we are blessed by the results. Matthew 6:10, 33; Luke 10:1-12, 23-24.

Guideline 4. Effective prayer is “in the name of Jesus.”

“In the name of Jesus” is more than a verbal formula tacked onto the end of our prayers. It means that the request is offered with the intent that it be found fitting to Jesus’ compassionate character and redeeming, reconciling mission. We pray in the name of Jesus because we are his ambassadors in this world, already speaking and acting as his representatives. John 14:13-14; 15:16; 16:23-24; Acts 3:16; 4:8-12; 16:18; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Ephesians 4:32—5:2; 5:18-21; Colossians 3:12-17.

Guideline 5. Effective prayer begins with seeking the Holy Spirit.

God wants to give us good gifts. The very best gift that he can give us is his loving, purifying, guiding, and empowering presence in our lives through the Holy Spirit.  Jesus instructs us to ask, seek, and knock fr this gift. When we do not know how to pray, the Holy Spirit will teach us how to pray. When we cannot put our prayers into sensible words, the Holy Spirit will carry the sense of our unintelligible groanings to the throne of God. Luke 11:9-13; Romans 8:26-27; Ephesians 6:17-18.

Guideline 6. Effective prayer is offered from purified hearts.

James notes that sometimes we do not have because we have not asked, and sometimes we do not have because we have asked wrongly to spend the answer on our own passions, our own desires that flow from divided hearts. We cannot be wavering between godly solutions and ungodly solutions and expect that our prayers will be answered. James counsels us to purify our hearts, to get single minds about our trust in God and his wisdom. James 3:13—4:10.

Guideline 7. Effective prayer is offered in the context of the community of faith.

When two or three of us gather in the name of Jesus for the sake of his mission and agree in prayer, based on the leading of the Holy Spirit, the effect of the prayer is powerful. Since significant agreement among any group of human beings does not come easily, the mere fact of agreement sometimes is evidence that we are listening to the Holy Spirit. Consistent with Guidelines 5 and 6, we must be sure that our agreement flows fron the Holy Spirit and not from the spirit of this world. Matthew 18:19-20; James 5:13-18.

Guideline 8. Effective prayer persists.

This is not to say that we need to treat God as an unrighteous judge that we must wear down with our constant pleading. The point is that, if an unrighteous judge can be worn down by repeated pleadings, then God who is already favorably disposed toward the good of his children can be trusted not to forget our needs. We can wait with confidence that our prayers will be answered in the right time and in the right way. We may wish to check back in from time to time to reaffirm our faith in what we have asked and to continue to listen to see if God would redirect our prayer in some way. In the end, even if we must wait through this life, we want to be found still trusting the goodness of God and his power to answer our prayer in the best possible way. Luke 11:5-13; 18:1-8.

Guideline 9. Effective prayer puts its faith in God and not in our own faith.

It is not the quantity of our faith, but the fact that we are willing to put whatever faith we have into play that counts. Even faith as small as a grain of mustard seed will suffice when we take our stand on it. Mark 9:14-29; Luke 17:5-6.

Guideline 10. Effective prayer is something that any believer can do.

Some people may have special spiritual gifts for intercession, healing, miracles, etc. But all Christians can pray effectively. None of us are experts at prayer. All of us will have some learning moments in prayer. But not one of us is excluded from lifting up the concerns of people in need before the throne of God. The key point is that there is no insufficiency in God’s love, grace, power, or wisdom, and that is what determines the results.  Therefore, all of us may pray effectively. Just do it. Philippians 4:4-7; Colossians 4:2-4; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; 1 Timothy 2:1-7.

Fake Pastor Caught With Human Skull During Prayer

The Oyo State capital, Ibadan, has been in the news for all the wrong reasons in the last one week and the gory stories continue to unravel. First it was the discovery of a horror forest where human bodies and skeletons were discovered in a community. Few days after that discovery, a man who disguised himself as a mad man was arrested with human tongues and other body part.

The latest that is coming from the ancient city is that a man who disguised as a Pastor has been nabbed after he was discovered to be in possession of a human skull. The preacher, dressed in white garment and going about preaching at the top of his voice and receiving money from people, was arrested at Agbowo Junction.

A man approached the fake Pastor to pray for him but during the prayer the man observed something inside his bag. After the prayer, the man made as if he wanted to give the Pastor some money but he immediately grab his bag and while dragging the bag, to the surprise of everyone, a human skull drop...

A mob, having been attracted by the shocking discovery, descended on the fake Pastor and beat him to a pulp as others who had begged the Pastor to pray for them watch with shock.

But for the intervention of policemen attached to the Kajorepo Police Division, the fake preacher would have been beaten to death and even set ablaze. He is now in police cell, answering questions about his activities.
